Daily Post publishes NW Top 200 companies Jun 25, 2011 // Christian ReynoldsNo Comments »THE Liverpool Daily Post, in conjunction with the Manchester Evening News, will tomorrow publish its latest North West Top 200.
This 68-page publication, which will appear inside your Daily Post tomorrow, ranks the 200 biggest companies in the North West by turnover. It also lists the 20 fastest growing firms and the 20 most profitable.
The ranking has been pulled together by MBA students at the University of Liverpool Management School. The project was overseen by Management School director, Professor Murray Dalziel.
The aim was to produce a listing of the biggest, locally controlled businesses in our region. “Locally controlled” was defined as businesses that have their principal centre of management in the North West. For example, their chief executives and finance directors will be based here.
The supplement also looks at who the highest-paid bosses are in the region and examines the extent to which women have established a presence in the boardrooms of the North West.
Daily Post business editor Bill Gleeson, who edited the supplement, said: “This is an innovative supplement that draws upon the combined research capability of the university’s Management School and the journalistic and distribution resources of the Liverpool Daily Post and the Manchester Evening News. It provides a unique insight into the state of the region’s biggest firms.”
