Small businesses can afford new technology Oct 09, 2010 // Christian ReynoldsNo Comments »
Small businesses are recognising the benefits of newer technology despite slight extra cost, research suggests.Voice-over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology is becoming more popular among small businesses which has now been recognised that it will not break the bank.
Small firms had been misled to believe that VoIP services are at a higher cost compares with traditional communication systems. It is now clear that this is not the case and it has even been suggested to save money.
Robert Poe, editor-in-chief of the voice and video communication website VoIP Evolution said:
“More small businesses are recognising the benefits of VoIP.”
“VoIP services in particular enable small businesses to save money, as they are provided remotely by outsourcers.”
Due to this off-site management model, businesses do not need to hire extra staff to look after the systems. This ineffectively enables small businesses to keep in control of their IT and personnel spending, which is increasingly important given the uncertain economic climate.
Infonetics Research recently reported that the number of SMEs investing in hosted VoIP technology has increased in recent months, driven by the desire to make savings.
