Two Berkshire County banks to merge Jul 26, 2011 // Jorja McKinneyNo Comments »Greylock Federal Credit Union and Steinerfilm Employees Federal Credit Union in Williamstown have announced plans to merge the two institutions, effective this Friday. Both organizations have approved the merger, and approval from the National Credit Union Administration has been granted.
The move is a result of the credit unions desire to give their members more benefits, said Rosemarie Blair, who managed the Steinerfilms Employees Federal Credit Union.
Steinerfilm Employees Federal Credit Union’s $290,000 in assets will be assumed by Greylock. Steinerfilms 90 members will receive all of the benefits available to Greylock’s more than 70,000 members, including access to all 13 branches and 18 ATM local locations, access to 28,000 nationwide Co-Op network ATMs, expanded branch and telephone center service hours, and online services.
Steinerfilm Employees FCU is located at 987 Simmonds Road in Williamstown. Greylock FCU has branches in Pittsfield, Great Barrington, Lee, Adams, North Adams, Williamstown and Lanesborough.
