With all of this new trendy planking stuff going on we wanted to be the first to prove this is nothing new. In fact, we have found pictures from as far back as the 1940s. Whether you think planking is stupid, or some trendy BS, one thing you have to admit is that these pictures are funny.

1) Michelle Obama

As you can see, Michelle Obama has a sense of humor. She interrupted this important presidential meeting and totally destroyed the picture.

2) Sarah Palin

What is that? Yes, thats Sarah Palin planking the awning of an Alaska gun store. Rumor has it that while performing this student she said, Planking here in Alaska is nothing new dont ya know. What courage she has.

3) Adolf Hitler

Now that is incredible. Adolf Hitler showing people that planking in the 1940s was the real trend. I guess people in the U.S. dont always follow the international trends. He does have some tight form, and gets an A+ for this plank.

4) Eliot Spitzer

We have seen this picture before, but if you look carefully you can see Gov. Eliot Spitzer planking a Yacht in the background. Busted red handed, bud.

5) John Kerry

John Kerry has swagger. If you look closely you will see that he is actually only using 1 leg in this plank.

6) Joe Biden

Joe Biden is nuts. This must have happened while he was visiting his hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania. Whatever it takes to get the votes, Joe Biden will do.

7) President Obama

All you Tea Partiers better be careful! Uncle Obama is always looking over things and here is proof. This happened at a big event in the capital, and I guess Obama was not threatened by this rally. Cool as a cucumber if you ask me.

Hillary Clinton

Yes, thats Hillary Clinton doing her plankin thing. She has stellar form and looks relaxed while she is planking a gap.

9) President Reagan

Thats Air Force One, and at the time President Reagan. This has to be one of the most dangerous stunts we have seen by a president, and he performed the stunt with no problem. Notice the guy in the middle of the picture monitoring things.

10) President Bush

We all know that George Bush loves that oil money. What we didnt know is that uses the pumps to plank. In this rural Texas location George W proves to the world that he has a strong enough core to pull off even the toughest planks.

11) Gary Johnson

Gary who? Thats Gary Johnson, former Governor of New Mexico. He has that stupid look on his face because he knows he is pulling off a killer plank. He is supporting himself on an angle by only using his ankles. Thats sick.
