Republican plan expects to be close vote
28 July 2011
As the heat is cranked up on the President and Congressional leaders a Republican backed bill will hit Congress today. The vote on the bill is expected to too close to call. If the bill does indeed pass the Democratic controlled Senate vows to vote against the bill and the President has indicated he will veto the bill as well. The positive side if the bill passes will give the Republican side legitimacy and force the sides to collaborate on a settlement. On the opposite side a defeat of the bill may deepen the crisis and move the momentum in favor of the Democratic plan.
Either way, President Obama and lawmakers are faced with a potential world economic crisis that could top the banking, mortgage and financial service induced economic crisis that sent the country spiraling into recession. In the mean time the worlds markets sit and watch from the sidelines with baited breath.
